    Default 2016 GMC and the infamous AFM

    Gen 5 GM 5.3’s are having damn near the failure rate as the gen IV (2007-2013).

    101k miles, misfire on cyl 7. Pulled valve cover and as you can tell from video, cyl 7 (back cyl) rocker arm is not moving. Pulled rocker arm off and pulled push rod out. Push rod is bent like a banana. So cyl 7 has a collapsed lifter and it bent the push rod.

    Cyl 7 is the most prone to failure. No need to tear down for diagnosis. Full delete and a tune in order. Solid lift cam and lifter to fully delete the AFM is in store.

    More fuel = more boost!!

    Not AFM but I just spent a sweet $1700 on replacing AC condenser on 2017 tahoe 4000 miles out of warranty. Apparently another one of those known issues…..

    I live in chas but recently took this rig to cola to have KRT delete AFM and trans thermostat.
