I think I'll just keep shooting my Outback I bought used in 2006 for $300. It still kills them.

Not questioning matthews quality. The fact that some feel the need to buy one every year reminds me of those crowds. For gods sake 2th killed one with a golden eagle the other day

I shot the XT for years and loved it. Sold it when I wasn’t able to bow hunt much and regretted it. When I got back into bow hunting, I went in search of a bow that felt the same when shooting it and had the same forgiveness. Landed on the Halon 32 and love it after shooting everything on the market. Until something changes significantly in the archery world I will keep shooting it. I couldn’t imagine feeling the need to get a new bow every year and agree completely that bow companies have some great marketing.

Exactly,....it's all about keeping up with the Joneses. Mathews understands this.

And my Mathews S2 or Z7 don't care about new materials or improved research and development or marketing.

I just picked up a new to me Traverse. Older fella bought it and couldn’t shoot it due to shoulder issues and I got it for a song. I want to love it, but I just don’t. The only Mathews I’ve every really loved was the Conquest. Still got one, but it’s getting pretty long in the tooth. Might to try and find a newer one.

You can buy a new one and sell it every year and lose $150-$200 or buy one, keep it for 10 years and lose the total value. I get a new one every year because I’m eat up with bowhunting, and having a new toy makes me want to get out there and shoot on days I probably wouldn’t if I did not have said new toy. It’s definitely a want, not a need, but that’s the thought process for myself and several others I know. Bows don’t make that big of a jump year to year, we all know that. Still fun to piddle with.

my wife gave it to me in 2001, I think.
its the only bow i've ever killed shit with and its killed lots of shit.
and I dont practice. I think its silly. Granted, I always shoot once to twice to make sure it still hits the spot.

Worrying about how another man spends his money has got to be exhausting.

    New bow looks pretty cool.

CD doing work up there! I bought a Hoyt Vectrix new in 2007, thier flagship bow, kill stuff with it every year. Know how it shoots, I cant believe the stuff I kilt would be any deader if I had bought a new bow every other year. Some people like to have the latest and greatest, no problem with that at all, if I had money I didnt want to save for retirement I might do it too.

You use a French press and bought a $200 cast iron pan.

Quit tryin to act like you down with the skruggle. You’re just too lazy to tune a new bow.
