    I saw that picture. Story said the deer turned his head right as the hunter shot. It was a kid shooting. I guarantee you there wasn't much of a tracking job.

    I was walking a piece of WMA at the beginning of bow season a decade ago and had 2 does come down a ridge 15yds from me. I anchored the pin on the lead doe's vitals and let it fly when she stopped. She turned to reverse track when she saw me and ducked into the arrow. Caught her in the eye socket. DRT and only 20 mins into my hunt.
