Default The first of what I hope is many

Wes and I had a great afternoon with perfect weather, and Doc picked up his first limit of doves. He is 16 months old, and it was fun to watch the light come on for him. Wes did not like Doc picking up his birds. I have taken Doc really slow, and dealt with a little gunshyness after a buddy shooting over his head in September. Not a hint of it today, and he was a joy to hunt with.

Love the nerf gun! Took my 4 and 6 year olds today too. They each got two retrieves and the dog got the rest!

It doesn't get much better than that. I'm sure Wes will come to appreciate Doc in a few years when he is knocking them down..

Dogs named Doc gave a 100% chance of being fantastic. I would know.

Wes is a pretty cool kid. He appreciates his outdoor clothes and can drive the hell out of an electric 4wheeler. He also has an excellent singing voice. He sings me "Happy Birthday" regularly.

Threads like this (particularly, father-son adventures) make me cheese for a few minutes. Well done Turkey Man, Turkey Man, Jr., and Turkey Dog.
