    Default Anyone used carmax?

I'm looking to buy a 2-3 year old toyota RAV-4 for my daughter. Have any of you bought from Carmax before? Good or bad experience?

I've bought my last 4 trucks from them. Quick and easy. Prices aren't as good as they used to be though.

I have never. Know some whom have. Both good and bad experiences have been related to me. Especially about their “warranty” work.

Yeah it's the worst time to buy a dang car... but I've got a super great kid that needs a car that will last her from high school through college. Her next one is on her.

My tundra came from carmax. Had it shipped from a carmax dealer in Maryland to Columbia. I knew I’d buy assuming it checked out so there wasn’t any price haggling or dealer non sense. Good experience overall other than having a carmax sticker on the back.

I will say that driving it home I watched the gas needle go down and thought I’d made a huge mistake. I’m guessing they just use really bad gas for test drives there.

I bought my daughter a car from there and had a good experience (2hours in and out including test drive). Saw a car nut friend in there who was trading in a car. He said it is the fairest place to sell a car. A week after sale, the battery went bad and due to age they paid me cash to take it to a Mercedes mechanic to get a new battery installed.

I would check out Carvana as well. Had a very good experience selling a vehicle to them recently.

One of my employees just went through Carvana. She said it was smooth as silk and a nice car.

I have done Carvana too and it was smooth. On the appointed day they said they would arrive at 10:00 a.m. My doorbell rang at 10:00 a.m. and there was a cute college aged girl there to give us the keys and take it off the lift.

I think your experience depends on the due diligence you spend researching the vehicle, don't drive off of the lot with an ex enterprise car.

I have heard good things about Carvana and Carmax. IF you’d like to sell a car, currently, Carvana is buying market share by overpaying for vehicles, and selling them at a loss. I am a person that prefers to do business with people, so I don’t use either of these companies. I’m simply offering a fairly informed opinion.

Carvana was one of the easiest things I’ve ever done when it comes to buying a vehicle. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Ive sold three cars on carvana recently and it was too easy. Prior to that I always sold cars to carmax. Carvana was crushing Carmax's offers recently

Carmax has the largest inventory of used vehicles over anything else...if you want plenty of choices, then they are good. I ended up buying my truck from a dealer instead of Carmax, only because the dealer had exactly what I was looking for, but would have just have easily done it through Carmax.
    At least I'm housebroken.
