I just assumed it's some sort of liability dodge. He announced it not long after allegations came out about social media companies knowingly facilitating harmful content to delicate snowflakes. I figured this was a way to avoid getting pinned down. Just like some companies revamp under new management every so often to bury liability of past practices. It's harder to sue a company that's no longer in business.
