I quit putting in for them. I’m different than most people. I’d rather hunt public land.

They no longer zero out your points if you don't apply every year like they used to.

Old people sure love to blame social media for every damn thing in the world. But the people who manage our natural resources are responsible for improving habitat and increasing opportunities to keep up with demand. Its been going the opposite way for years.... SC is the worse place on the east coast for public duck hunting opportunity. Go apply to any of our neighboring states, get drawn same year, and kill more ducks than here.

My group of 4 was successful. We hunt 1/29 on the coast. This was our 4th year putting in.

When did this start? We missed the deadline this year. Is there a way to check your preference points total to verify?

Maybe if dumbasses like you didn’t post threads like this there wouldn’t be as much competition. Ever thought about that?

Internet posts don’t help for sure. But….

SCDNR deserves the lion’s share of the blame for that shit show.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Joey patiently put in for several years and finally got drawn for Santee Delta West. I was grateful for the invite. The guy in the shed told us a bunch of bullshit about mallards coming into the fields. We didn’t see a mallard or even a mottled duck.

    What’s up, Calibogue.

We got drawn. Year 4. DNR's constant emails and Facebook posts along with reminders from the idiots on any of the 10 "SC Duck Hunters" Facebook pages are the main culprit, I'd suspect. When SCDucks threads like this were the only reminder, you could still get drawn every 2 or 3 years. A lot more eyes, especially from dumb and lazy hunters, are on Facebook than here nowadays.
