I've seen some pretty sporty parking lot disagreements over a lot less. What a douche move.

I don't know how he made it that far without being recognized. He as a unique swing that would tip off most golf fans.
I used to organize a charity golf tournament for a company I worked for. The corporate headquarters are out of Bowling Green Ky and several folks would come down to Clayton, Ga and participate in the weekend.
In the early 2000's an exec sent in his team names and one was John Holmes (we made jokes about him being a porn star). Turns out John (now JB) was the grandson of one of the guys and he attended the University of Kentucky. Needless to say that team won that year. He crushed the longest drive by a mile past everyone else, impressive actually. He also took one of the closest to the pin holes.
I used to keep up with him when he was playing regularly and talked to him for a minute at the Heritage one year. He was a likeable person.
Apparently he's been hustling for a while. But, well, it's golf so that nothing new.
That’s the best part about golf.
Don’t get the big issue?
I assume it was a Captains Choice tournament and 21 under not that uncommon.
In fact my Captains Choice team that I play with in local school fundraisers will normally be 18-20 under and I truly suck at golf now days since that is only time I play. 3 scratch golfers can eat up a golf course if at least 2 are on their A game , when all 3 are on A game it is lights out. However in these tournaments very little if any money at stake when we win I give my part back to the Booster Clubs that up it on

Yea seems to me they followed all the rules. He was their only + handicap player, not to mention it wasn’t a handicapped event. The name thing is slightly deceiving but it is in fact his real name. I’m guessing people were just pissed because they didn’t buy them in the Calcutta. The fact that they let them play for the trophy but not the money kind of blows up their whole argument.
I used to think theres no drama like hunt club drama, now golf drama might supercede that...

The real deception was not knowing that team had a player that had won multiple PGA tour events. It would have changed the bidding for all teams in the calcutta. The committee was wise to DQ them from calcutta money.
