I handled a few NIB legit Turkish Hi-Power copies. Not sure of the mfg, but not EAA.

Way out of spec. Like “insert magazine with a hammer” out of spec.

Not impressed with the beaver tail on the grip. Kinda sharp edges

    But, do it shoot?

If so, how do it shoot?

I've had two in the past. A Belgian made FN that had Nazi waffenamts all over it that I should have kept, and a late model Browning Portuguese assembled one. I'm looking forward to this one. May sell a Glock to get it.

Did not shoot it, it just came in at the shop so I fondled it. Didn’t ask what the selling price was.

I don’t think I’d even want to shoot it. Id wager if you shoot it like a 1911 (thumb riding on top of safety) the edges of the beaver tail will cut the dog shat out of your hand. It hurt the web of my hand just taking the safety off. You’d have to manipulate the safety then drop your thumb under the safety for it not to cut into your hand.

Other than that it feels fairly good. It didn’t lock back on the empty mag either.

Didn’t turn my crank what so ever, but I’m sure they’ll sell the crap out of them. Already 3 people on the wait list……

Mine is an FN. Well-worn police trade-in. Has the black paint finish FN tended to put on various contract guns. She ain’t the prettiest but she doesn’t have any sharp edges.

    Please do.

I talked to a friend in Columbus that got one to T&E. (He's in the gun writin bidness) He says it shoots well, the safety has a detent in it and has an audible click when operated. He is in lust with the pistol. Went ahead and sent the funds in to keep it. Going to send it off and have the front strap checkered , a few edges softened and frame re-blued.

I'm going to get on the list. I love a HiPower. I wish I could send it to Jason Burton , but I ain't patient.

One of my best friends did some contract work in the sandbox a couple years ago. He bought a couple Hi Powers cheap at the local bazaar. Tore them apart and cobbled one together. Carried the gun concealed the rest of his time there. He tried to figure out a way to legally get it home with no success. Gave it to his replacement ( another ex SF guy.)

That guy is still carrying it supposedly. He found a way.

I have a Hi-Power that I bought from a cousin. He bought it while he was still working for a three letter agency and had the armorer there tweak it for him, great pistol.

They have been slow to ship. I wonder if it is due to having to fix the extraction issue. Replacing an extractor is easy. This is one of the last pistols on my "list to get".... A Hi-Power, a 10mm for hunting, and a couple of Ruger .22's. I have enough Glocks to choke a goat. Plus, I recently came into this....

Damn right. I will never own another Glock . Sig is running past them. To me, the Sigs are just better in every regard.

Another big PD over here is switching to P320s. Word is , the FBI may be ditching Glock soon.
