    Default 68RFE

It’s been the trans behind the 6.7 since 2008 and most notable the issues in the 4th Gen Rams. This one is the common. Slipping in 4th gear. So here is one tore down.

The burnt up clutches….friction material gone. Clutch plates warped etc

I’ve been slack. We had a Cadillac in last week for timing chains, a Ford Ecoboost with stretched chains and I didn’t get one picture.

Thought the 68RFE would be interesting. So in 2013 they put trans cooler thermostats in and they actually restrict flow.

So if you own a 2013-2018 Ram diesel with the 68RFE I would do this bypass:

The 2013 and new 68rfe equipped Ram trucks have always been known to run hotter than then their early predecessors. There also have been numerous melted down transmissions due to the bypass valve sticking in the cold closed position. Lastly, the thermal bypass has a large restriction in it which reduces cooler flow by 87%, yes you read that right, 87%! No other bypass offers full unrestricted flow like the RevMax version does!

Ironically all you with the GM 6 and 8 speeds, the trans cooler t-stat sticks and you’re slowly burning up your trans internals like in the pics above

Well the GM 4L60/4L80’s for a while now. Bullet proofed a few for LS swaps. We build a few transmissions.

The damn 68RFE Cummins trans are now on like intergalactic backorder but rebuild and bullet proof reman kits are available. So here we go…
