He does appear to be a little less wily.
Waiting on backup
I'd say that the deer is the confused one.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

humans have made coyotes out to be deer killers.
fawn killers, sure...but that coyote poses very little threat to those adult deer.
i've even watched coyotes parade thru a flock of turkeys before. were they paying attention to each other? sure. were the turkeys flying away like they had been flushed? nope. just kept on eating...
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
Corn feeders are more of a threat to deer any day vs. yotes.

I've got several on camera together as well. Killed a couple yotes last year eating peanuts they had just turned over.
I saw something similar. A winter flock of 20 hens all putting loudly letting the coyotes know what was was as the pair of coyotes passed by marking bushes 10 yards away. They watched them closely but weren't too concerned. Granted, this was in in a clean field with plenty of room to get out of dodge.
