    Incremental changes.
    - most folks have not even recognized what they’ve given up even in just the last few months…

    - shutdowns
    - online schooling
    - masks to enter businesses
    - indoor dining closed down
    - funerals postponed/no attendance
    - CHURCH no attendance
    - “social distance” became a new term in our vernacular
    - “vaccinated” no longer equal to “immunized”
    - jab or job?
    - the mention of poor election integrity immediately classifies one as an extremist
    - impeaching a civilian that no longer holds office is fine
    - math is racist you know
    - drone bomb a civilian family without any recourse but a Lt Col speaks out against it and he get thrown in the brig
    ETC, ETC, ETC.

It’s looking like the American people will continue to obey.
    * until 2A comes into question? *

Four years or forty years isn't really that much difference in the grand scheme of things. They would have been back in power at some point no matter what. Trump was the best thing that ever happened to them. He didn't talk nice so they were able to scorched Earth with their agenda after he put them on the spot.

Probably not, because they don't even need a majority. Just a loud, aggressive vocal minority.

    IT'S WORKING

Thank you for recently asking your representatives in Washington to oppose a proposal to require banks report customer account information to the IRS. It’s not over—we need you to help keep the momentum going by calling your members of Congress using our simple online call wizard and script.

You and consumers across the country have sent a strong and overwhelming message about the importance of your personal banking privacy. Since August 26, advocates like you have sent more than 500,000 messages to Congress opposing the new IRS reporting plan.

Your voices have kept the proposal out of the current reconciliation bill. However, because the proposal can be added to the legislation at any time, consumers must continue speaking out to Congress until the final vote.

Can you make a quick call to let your members of Congress know that your privacy matters?

Thank you for taking the time,

    John

That's the problem. Shouldn't even have to contact them over BS like this.

Pelosi: Budget Reconciliation Package to Include Tax Reporting Provision

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told reporters yesterday that Democrats plan to include a controversial tax reporting provision in their budget reconciliation package that would require banks to report information to the Internal Revenue Service on gross inflows and outflows on customer accounts above a certain de minimis threshold.

Pelosi did not specify what the threshold would be, though Democrats have eyed a $10,000 threshold in recent days, up from the $600 threshold originally proposed by the Biden administration. Despite the Pelosi’s remarks, House Democrats have not yet agreed on the details of a final reconciliation package, and no vote has been scheduled at this time. Any final version will have to also clear the U.S. Senate, where some Democrats are pushing for a smaller package.

ABA has aggressively opposed the tax reporting proposal at any dollar threshold, calling it “bad tax policy” and urging lawmakers to reject it from any future legislation. In a recent letter to lawmakers, ABA and other banking trade groups noted that “the impact on average Americans and the safety and privacy of their financial information would not be mitigated by raising the reporting threshold to $10,000 or even $100,000. . . . In the end, whether it is average workers or self-employed citizens virtually all Americans will be subject to this new reporting.”

The association is continuing to urge banks and their customers to contact their representatives to let them know they firmly oppose this proposal. Bankers can find communications tools to help engage bank customers at SecureAmericanOpportunity.com .

The $600 will never get passed, too much work

I look to see the $10K if anything but still be surprised if that happens, after all this time next year are mid term elections All politicians that are up for re elections are in survival mode now

If the midterms were now, this wouldn't have been brought up. By this time next year, it will have been forgotten by the voters. As far as too much work, for who? They don't give a shit if a regulation means too much work for the banks. As far as too much work for the IRS, they have computers and this:

CBO estimates that portions of the Administration's proposal to increase funding for the IRS by $80 billion over the 2022–2031 period would increase revenues by approximately $200 billion over those 10 years.
