    Default Anybody Recognize This Place?

Haven't been to this venue in 12-15 years until this past Saturday. Sure did have some fun shooting these particular stations (some of the traps can be seen waaaaaaay in the background)...

Elberton GA. The only place I have ever shot a target 30 yards directly below my feet.

That quarry has some fun and unique last couple of stations for sure.

My gun still has some scars from falling down a ramp up to the tallest station there one time years ago.

Love that place! By far my favorite sporting clays course. I used to shoot there occasionally when I was in grad school at UGA. My FIL lives about an hour away and Ive ben meaning to get him there.

    What brought you up there?

As an aside, you couldn't ask for a nicer group of shooters- wish I lived closer.

Elbert County gun club. Probably one of the most unique places to shoot sporting clays in the country. Shooting down into those rock quarry's produces the weirdest echoes. Its always a lot of fun. I would not want to be the guy setting targets though.

Do you remember the guy before Eric came along? I believe that old mans name was Buddy maybe. He used to set some of the hardest most technical targets I’ve ever seen in my life down in that quarry. It was like his little playground and he knew every inch of it and how to mess with a shooter.

I've been there 5 or 6 times. My former boss was a member. It's a very cool place to shoot. That flooded quarry is absolutely loaded with catfish, too. They also have a nice rifle range with long range targets.

I've been down to the rifle range a few times (it goes out to 400 yds), and shot a few trap rounds, but have never shot the clays course.

Same here. Only place I've ever shot down at a target. Definitely a challenge. Some wild echo/report off that wall too.
