    I wouldn't pay for that crappy work, that tile job is horrendous!

    ...but I also wouldn't hire a $7k job out from craigslist either so there's that.

    Is that not how all home renovations go? What is so out of the ordinary about it? It actually turned out pretty good. I have seen worse.

    Jobs like that I take a deposit and normally don’t bill again until it’s complete. I’ve had one POS who didn’t pay, I got my money. I’ve felt like destroying it at times but have learned after 35yrs to just roll with it. Benefits of a cost plus contract are readily apparent when a HO pisses the contractor off.
    Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
