I'm all about technology, just not in my vehicle. Computers slow down and have bugs within a few years. That doesn't work well for those of us that keep trucks 10 plus years. You won't be able to adjust your A/C after 5 years because the screen will be froze

Why in the world would they have these mega screens protruding above the dash. Seems like quite the distraction and possibly creates a blind spot. I wonder how durable these displays are? Probably $8-10k to replace.

If you need a screen that big, just stay your ass at home.

maybe obsolescence will be built into pickups now too, like many tech devices.

agreed that this is a terrible idea.

Work truck model with a bench seat and actual window handles would be a nice niche'.

Oh someone will hack it, give them time.

I remember when I bought my first car, a 74 Mercury Cougar XR7, man was I proud, brought it home and showed my father, it has power door locks, power windows, power seats . . . he looked at it and said " thats just something else to break". Broke my heart but I bet I changed those power window motors out a dozen times while I had that car.

Right?? The below quote from white quacker has always resonated with me. All I really want is 4x4, heat/ac, and a radio. If they’d bring back the square body I’d be in first in line with money in hand.

I thought about driving down to either that show or the following night at the windjammer but I’m too far behind at work from spending a week on jury duty

Computers and long term don’t go together. I hope they figure it out, but right now they don’t have the technology for a computer to last 10 plus years and not be absolutely miserably slow. I don’t want to have to pay $3,000 every 3 years because my trucks computer has crapped out

I think they are trying to get people comfortable/normalized to the display they will be using for electric vehicles. Also, Teslas have screens like that so it must be cool...

I have one of the new big Ford screens in my F150. I like everything about it. It will probably break and I might hate it then. A/C not controlled by screen.
