As the days get shorter they lay less.

If you need eggs I usually have plenty of extras.

Speaking of worthless chickens, I have plenty of bantam roosters if anybody want 1 or 6. I had 4 more hatch yesterday and they'll probably all be roosters with my luck.

    This is a good possibility.

I have 8 and still pulling 4-6 a day right now.

But I'm nice to my chickens and don't discuss politics with them or make them feel bad about their personal choices.

Snake or they have started laying in a new weird spot that only makes sense to chickens.

Chickens will stop laying time to time.

This being said as mentioned above STRESS will have a big effect on quantity and quality of eggs.

Put a light in their coop.

    It helps.

The shorter days dry them ol' girls up.

We have 30ish birds. They dry up big time starting about the first of October and start back up big time in early March-ish.

How predator proof is your chicken coop? Rats, raccoons, snakes etc can get in the smallest of access points, and wreak havoc. Too, are there any signs of busted eggs? Chickens will start pecking and eating eggs. I had one bantam hen who that is all she would do, go from nest to nest pecking and eating eggs. She got gone once I caught her. It is also that time of the year where egg production will slow, but shouldn’t stop cold turkey though.
