You couldn't convince them to get it deleted when they had it with you the first time?

    Nope.

Just like it baffles me people won’t delete the trans thermostat.

But my profit margin is much larger in long run if we wait on either or both to fail.

Hey KRT would you say you see more of one certain brand of vehicle broken down more than
    Others?

I mean I know they all break at some point but let’s say F-150’s compared to 1500’s, and Tundras. Does one seem to be worse than others?

    We see a lot of 2007 - 2013 GM’s
Fair amount of 2014 and up GM’s (especially costly repairs)

We see a lot of Ford 5.4 2003-2010
Fair amount of the ecoboost, years 2011-2017. (Not many 2018’s - newer)

Not many Rams, some older 4.7 hemis

We’ve never done a major job on a Tundra from the 4.7 years thru current. A few of the air pump and secondary air valve jobs, but they now have a delete for that.

Bottom line is they all have their problems. GM 2007 until 2019 in the lead both shop time and cost of repair. Tundras being mostly maintenance.

My car count was 412 cars/repair orders written the month of August. We had the best month ever in 8 years and GM/BMW fed us well.

If you have a Chrysler product with MDS… delete it.

If you have a GM with AFM delete it

If you have a GM with a trans cooler thermostat… delete it.

Also on 2014 and newer GM’s, I would service the transmission every 60k miles or sooner. I don’t care what what GM tells you. They stock transmissions at the dealer.

What year did the GM trans cooler thermostat start and is it only on 1500’s?

Oddly enough, this mirrors my experiences with vehicles over the years. Every GM I have ever had always seemed to break down more than any others. They sure make a good looking vehicle though.

Crazy the things you have to do on these things, I do not envy you at all.

What changed in 2019 on the GMs? Is it just the fact that the majority havent hit enough mileage/wear to be problematic yet or was there a significant design improvement? Are the newer GM's considered to be reliable again?

ETA: I just started putting some 6.6 gas trucks into the fleet...hopefully they prove to be as reliable and tough as their 6.0 predecessors.

This reminds me, I need to bring my 15 in and delete the trans thermostat.

I'd like to know more about this trans delete thing. I have a 2011 z71 (93k miles). Does it have the trans cooling thermostat? I have the plug in thing that disables the AFM. Is it just as good as actually getting it deleted?

    Buy Ford’s with the 7.3L.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

My guess is he doesn’t see 19’s because they are still under warranty. Might be wrong though.
