    Default The Greatest Week of My Life

    September 3rd to September 11th might have been the greatest week of my life. Not only did I kill 3 nice bucks, but I got to experience the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I got to watch my first born come into this world on September 11th. To say this dad is pumped would be an understatement. Paul William Whitten III “Tripp” was born at 8:58 pm on September 11th! I know my dad is smiling down from heaven. To say I can’t wait to share a tree with him in springs to come and deer stands in falls to come is and understatement. The week got started off with a very nice buck I’d hunted several times and killed that afternoon. He was coming out of his velvet so wasn’t as pretty as he could’ve been but one of my best deer (9 point 19 inches wide and 165 lbs). I went back hunting again on Labor Day and killed a nice 8 point (175 lbs) in front of the hounds. I didn’t go back hunting until Friday September 10th and killed another nice 9 point (19 inches wide 177 lbs). The following morning at 3:30 I was woken up by my lovely wife telling me her water had broke. The rest was history! This is one pumped dad!! P.S. the 9 point from Friday night is already hanging in the nursery with a Euro mount.
