    Default Lake Wateree snails

I used to go to Lake Wateree as a kid and never saw these things. But the last few years the lake has been overrun with those big ole snails. Do any of yall know what the deal is there? Invasive species? Duke changing something with aquatic weed/plant management?

    Catfish eat them.

I have busted them and the freshwater clams open and catfished. I catch way more on the clams.

There is a lot more clams than snails. Find a clam bank and fish you will fill a cooler up. Put some catfish in a live well for a few hours and see what comes out their stomach. Clams shells and empty snail shells.

How big are you talking? Clemson invasive species knows about the tennis ball-sized snails in a few spots in Horry and Charleston County, but I haven't heard about them in Lake Wateree.
