Default Question about stripers on Murray

Theres a tournament coming up on Murray on Oct. 2nd. It's for my wifes twin brother who passed away a few years ago. We arent involved with putting on the tournament but we' are invited. We are thinking about fishing it but ive never fished for stripers or on Murray. And advice would be appreciared. We have no interest in trying to place but it would be nice for her to catch a fish or two. We will be carrying my 22ft cc.
If anyone would help, just text me at 843-858-4346 Thanks, Kevin

Kevin, be glad to help you out. A lot of productive ways you can catch fish right now. You can text or call me at 803-238-1415.

Kevin I've got some planer boards you're more than welcome to use if you need them.

Should be able to find schooling fish in the morning. Fish are starting to get in a pattern where they are gonna gorge themselves. Find the bait, you'll find the fish. Topwater, planer boards, flukes, down rods.......all will work.

    Solid advice.

Just don't be an asshole when you try to fish schooling fish. Stay back and they'll give you opportunities.

Pro tip: Schooling fish are unlikely to yield anything more than dinks. Unless it's really slow, I wouldn't waste my time.

Planers and bluebacks. Go a day early and try to find big pockets of bait.

    You'll catch fish.

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty sure i put "stripers" in the subject line but either i was wrong "that would be a first" or a mod changed it.
We will have fun regardless of whether we catch anything or not. I rarely fish fresh water anymore and have only caught stripers when bass fishing many years ago. I really do appreciate the info and I believe, with the info one of the resident striper gurus gave me, she might even catch a fish.
