Default Best Heavy equipment Brand these day

I'm wanting to buy a new 200 series excavator for the business, and I wondering what you guys are seeing to be the best brand now a days. Is it CAT, Volvo, etc?

Komatsu and Cat, Volvo’s I’ve run didn’t have the ass the other 2 had. That being said local parts and service helps sell machines in my book. They all break and if you can’t get service or parts quickly you cost yourself a bunch of money.

    CAT

You've got parts and service at your back door.

You must work at a Cat dealer ? CAT is no different from the rest in this time of everything is on back order. I had to send a 320 back because no DEF level sensor and dealer had no idea when it be in. Then they sent a brand new 320 and the dealer made numerous trips to fix . I like the Cat equipment but I think Komatsu is a little stronger machine . A JD has a stronger turntable than both. Cat has a better cab on a new machine. Komatsu drive motors are stronger..

Service departments matters more than comparing machines.

Herbert Anderson has more heavy equipment locally than anyone else I could think of, and everything they run dozer and trackhoe wise is Komatsu. So Id say they either get good deals on them or have gotten reliable service out of them

Had the same sensor issue with ours. Luckily Blanchard was on top of it.

Komatsu builds wheel loaders in Newberry. Nothing else.

No secret that I work for Blanchard. 12 locations in SC for parts and service. CAT gets my vote in the excavator market. I’ve ran quite a few in my travels.

Our guys prefer the Komatsu... We have 170's thru 490's and have demoed CATs, and still run a few JDs (350,360). The Komatsu seems to cycle(swing) faster and are stronger, and when loading trucks all day that makes a difference. But they all have issues, so go with who you feel or know will give you the best service.

    1000% correct

Komatsu, Kobelco, John Deere would be my preference

Being In the rental industry I get to see what really holds up and where the dealer support is.

CAT is a great machine till it breaks. Then….. GOOD LUCK
