    Default Dove opener

Had a small shoot with the boys, didn’t take long with some fast and furious shooting. Weather was exceptional for opening day!63D41739-2BE4-4AE2-9960-12896F3C6047.jpg

Those two are home again? Hope they have an electric car to save on all that gas back and forth. On a positive note, there is a lot less to get them in trouble where they are today. Lol

We had fun. The lower end of the field where we drew is always slower than the top end.

I think there was 17 limits killed and I ended up 1 shy of a limit.

The limits today took longer than normal but still a wonderful day

Slowest opener I’ve had in a couple years, Sure beats working though because that’s all I’ve been doing lately.
Hoping Monday is better at a different field

Weather was indeed great today. Too bad I was stuck indoors and didn't go. Had a skin graft done on my ear after removing some squamous cells left a big ass hole. They said I can't even sweat, as it would risk getting the bolster wet and the graft getting infected.

So I erred on the side of caution and stayed home.

Glad you guys got em real good.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Wonder what sense DNR thinks it makes to wait until 12 opening weekend? NC don’t pull that bullshit

They think we’re all criminals until they can prove we aren’t is the main part. The vast majority of doves are killed opening day thru Labor Day. DNR is convinced you, because you’re a criminal, will shoot both morning and afternoon if it’s open all day so they limit it to half a day. Well, opening it the first half of the day would mean you, the criminal, would have a pleasant time in the field with your friends and family and you, being a criminal and all, don’t deserve such as that. Also, opening it in the morning means they would have to get up real damn early.

You sure have been winey here lately. I killed another limit today in another field 5 minutes from the house, took a little longer but man was the weather nice, 5-10mph breeze, mid 80’s, if you don’t like that you’ve got an issue.
