While I surely don't condone what's going on here, some of the things presumably done I do "understand". Maybe I was raised different, but family is family, if I thought I could get away with it, I'd turn the world to ash to protect my wife, children, brothers and even a few friends.

My mother in law, God rest her soul called the sheriff to arrest her son on burglary charges when she found stolen property in her house.

I worked with the sheriff's dept recently to arrest a coworker.

I'd do it again.

My kids KNOW where I stand, and where they would be. I can love them through the bars that they put themselves behind.

My dad bailed me out when I screwed up. I sold a Winchester 30-06 to pay him back. I also paid every dime in fines, insurance and attorney's fees. He loves me, I have no doubt. He also taught me a lesson that you obviously were not taught.

To protect them from the consequences from their wrongs? I get what you're saying. I would go to the ends of the earth to protect my family, but sometimes it's better to learn lessons from your screwups verses having somebody bail you out every time.
