Nice Mark. I've looked there before but keep telling my self the right property will eventually show up on the canal. There was a house on the canal a couple of years ago I looked at hard but in the end, it needed to much work. The idea of a condo with no yard to keep up with and a swimming pool is appealing

We rented there through VRBO the last 4 years-pool, dock, boat ramp and slip with no lawn care or maintenance were big factors- elevator and biggest unit in the complex helped seal the deal. We have 5 grandkids that all love it there. I have a lot of experience fishing that area and the fishing is good. I also have a few friends that bought or built on the water in the area recently. Going to get my golf game back in shape too.

Wife has a plan for it to be paid off in a couple of years- less than 2% apr for 15 year loan really helped make it happen.

She will probably want a pontoon soon.

26 years ago when my dad bought a place on the upper lake an elderly neighbor told him "welcome to Santee work camp". No truer words have ever been spoken.

If I ever own a lake house / mountain house, yard maintenance will be paid for. The hell with showing up for vacation and having to work. I’m not against it but you can stretch yourself too thin where you never enjoy anything.
