Thieves steal gun, computer, checks and other important documents from my sons car.

The computer gives off pings to show location. We follow the the projects.

Likely perp sees us in parking lot.

We approach and he brandishes my sons gun.

We foolishly convince him to at least give us the computer.

    He does.

We call cops in hopes of getting the rest. Both city and sheriff deputies arrive.

    They ask for the story.

We ask them to get a warrant.

Said it will take a day or two after investigation.

We ask them to investigate by talking to the perp.

    They refuse to.

    Why do we have cops?

Did you not feel a good self defense situation when he brandished your sons gun? He’ll be sure to get rid of all the evidence by the time the police get a warrant.

So the guy that took the stuff was still around and the cops wouldn't talk to him.......

I was in Asheville last week. Police are no longer investigating vehicle break ins. Among other things.

Theft under $1,000 where there is no suspect information (this does not include stolen vehicles or guns)
Theft from a vehicle where there is no suspect information
Minimal damage and/or graffiti to property where there is no suspect information
Non-life threatening harassing phone calls (does not include incidents that are related to domestic violence and/or stalking)
    Fraud, scams, or identity theft
Simple assaults that are reported after they have occurred
Reports that do not require immediate police actions and/or enforcement (information only reports)
    Funeral escorts
    Lost/found property
Trespassing where the property owner does not want to press charges

Police don’t bother with petty stuff anymore.

When perp uses that gun for a murder, the ATF will come interview you and accuse you of a straw purchase.

You legit probably should have been recording him with your phone. If you have him on camera with your stuff maybe they would have done more.

How can you call it an investigation when you don't even try to get the guy to answer the door?

    Perps in City.

Yep, criminal justice reform means slapping wrists instead of hard time. Y’all got to put some teeth back in the criminal justice system. For starters, the dept of corrections needs to figure out the firing squad protocols ASAP. There have been stays on executions because that “option” is not available yet.

That’s the frustration voters feel. Until they just give up and say to hell with it all. Give up and say to hell with it. It helps.
