    Default Open Carry question ?

Read an article on WYFF news site about the Open Carry law that takes place 8/15

It mentioned if/when you renew your CWP you will need to take another course on Open Carry or did I interpret it wrong ??

Guess I never thought about the consequences of open carry when it comes to holstering/upholstering and also how to keep others from grabbing your open carry weapon

Frankly I do not see me doing anything different than I do now with CCW, just figure you will not have be as concerned with some liberal nut screaming when they see a hint of a gun

Was not sure if anyone on here is a CCW instructor that could clarify this new law

I've never understood why someone would want to open carry.

Hard to tuck an N frame.

When the sheeple get used to seeing guns that are not associated with crime- they lose the gun control lust. Someone yelling out GUN won't have a negative effect- nor will "man with a gun" require a LEO response.
We never should have stopped open carry- it's our right.

To definitely let someone know you have a gun and to horrify Target shoppers.

Only time I've ever considered open carrying was in Colorado since it was the only legal option. It was in a small hunting/ranching town but I bet 10 percent of people I saw were open carrying in town, there were guns everywhere and no one cared.

Don't know why someone would willingly vote to restrict the 2nd or increase taxes but it happens.
“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965

Do you have a hunting or fishing license?

If so, then problem solved, carry whenever you want….

You need to read that law again, stopping by the store isn't fishing or hunting or traveling to or from.

The people in Wyoming have it & I understand why. I don’t feel the need to flaunt a pistol when I’m at the store. Hell I’m very selective on when I conceal carry.

My favorite are the ones here in NC that open cary with cheap nylon holsters. Blaster flopping all over the place, looking like it could hit the floor at any second.

Open carry was passed to sow MORE division among gun owners. This thread proves they succeeded.

I worry open carry will result in more businesses not allowing firearms. Businesses that haven’t put up signs banning concealed carry may do so when they see open carry in their business.

Ate at a BBQ house right across the line not too long ago. Dude right out of moms basement wearing a Batman t-shirt came in with a 10mm strapped to his hip came in. Never felt more uncomfortable with a dude with a gun. I’ve been around kids with a 12 ga on a dove field, 10 year olds with an ‘06, rednecks with a .45 and it was this mamas boy that scared me the most. I trusted all the others infinitely more because I knew they had been around guns all their lives.
