I don’t care a thing about a raw fig but fig preserves are a different story.

Glenn and his wife gave me a few jars last year and they’re some of the best I’ve ever had

Tuscan Hushpuppies — cut fig in half, dollop of goat cheese on each half, wrap them in prosciutto, sear in pan or on grill. Drizzle with balsamic reduction.

I will eat them right off the tree, when they are purple and starting to split on the sides they are sweet as candy, but Im gonna try the hushpuppy idea, that sounds good

I'm overwhelmed with them right now. Picking 4-5 pounds per day. One day made enough preserves to last until next year. I have pureed figs dehydrating into fruit leather and sliced ones drying to chips currently.

not to derail but I had a fig tree and two pear trees loaded first of July. Went to the keys for 2 weeks and came back to everything being gone. Crows the culprit on both you think?

I’ve never poached an animal off another persons land, but when it comes to figs I’ll eat every last one. My new neighborhood on James island doesn’t seem to have any figs like west Ashley did. I’d take a grocery bag with me on runs and grab a few from each tree.

Recently discovered a nice tree at the corner of Ashley and Broad as well.

I threw them up as a kid. Can't touch them. They are disgusting to me now.

Squirrels and crows hammer mine if I neglect to pick them and they start falling off the tree, seems they smell the rotten ones and it draws them in. I put a game cam on my tree a couple years ago and had coons, possums and deer on it at night, seems everything eats them if they find them

They might have hitched a ride to Montana.
