    Default Trade-In/New Truck

So I bought a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie 4wd crew cab last April for $43,500ish. With all the talk about trade in values going bananas, I called the dealer I got it from, 31Dodge, to see what trade in and a 2021 version replacement of my truck would run. They have an identical truck, except it has upgraded eTorque something motor and a 3.92 rear end. They offered me a trade in value (unseen and picked up at my house 4 hours away) of $50,000. The new 2021 truck out the door will run me $3500.

I can’t wrap my mind around it. Surely they will make money on the 2020, but a better, brand new pickup for $3500 more is a no brainer.

I also do not fully understand it. Traded in my 2020 z71 for a 2021 gmc AT4. Dealer gave me $6k more than I paid for the z71 26k miles and 1 dent in the hood ago, and came off enough on the new one to make it impossible to walk away from. Basically got a brand new truck with more options for $3k. I can’t wrap my head around someone paying $50k for a used one over $54k for a brand hammer new.

Yep. Traded an 18 Chevy duramax last Friday. 86000 miles. They’re asking 59888 for it on their website. I’m in a GMC duramax now. Night and day difference in the two makes.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

you had a bad one, all the brands have bad ones in my opinion! but honestly, you've beat the horse to death! get over it already.

and don't get me started on my luck with GM. I have a 21 suburban in the shop going on 10 days now. So basically fuck off with your opinions. I have mine too

So you got another new GM when you have a brand new one in the shop 10 days already?

    Seems logical.

Got the new one before the other new one was in the shop. Did you think of that?

LOL, mines sitting in the yard. It’s only taken 14 months to get GM to buy it back and those dumb ducks still can’t get the math right. But hey, maybe 10 days isn’t so bad, mine was in the shop for 7 months before they returned it, unrepaired, under warranty. So my fucking opinions of what a shit product GM makes are valid. I’d drive a Nissan before I’d drive a GM.

I bought a used 2016 F150 in 2017. I kept it for 52 months and put 48k miles on it. I had been looking around for a while. I really wanted the F150 with the 36 gallon tank, mine had a 23. In April I ended up ordering one. I couldn’t see paying new money for a used one. The truck came in this week. Dealership gave me 4,000 less than I paid for the used truck after 52 months and 48,000 miles. And the kicker the master cylinder went out on the way in to trade the truck. The dealership had to pick the truck up with their roll back.

Not bad at all. With technology and how far shocks have come, you pretty much retain factory ride quality. Of course if you do a full lift. Which I’m certain you will.

Got 195,000 on my 2012 pro 4x..... Got it used in 2015 for $22,000 with only 40,000 on it. It gets treated like a truck. I can't see myself driving a $50,000 truck tho some of the stuff I put that Nissan tho.
