    Default BBWD

Went out to check the field after the rain and found 25 or so whistling ducks hanging out.

Hoping to pick up a 70-200 f2 lens before this coming duck season.

Every wet area I’ve seen from the coast to the upper lake seems to have em.

I watched about 80 on a small mud hole on the River Road a little while ago.

They were trickling in when I first got there. I had to walk the levee and sneak up a interior levee to try and get close enough.

RH I hope they stick around.

No doubt - I’m just happy to see another resident duck in SC.

I love those "ducks", more closer related to geese than ducks tho.

They used my boxes this year in S La. Some of the duck parents ever.

They are break all the duck rules...the male and female look alike, just like geese and swans...the male sticks around and helps raise and protect the young, just like geese and swans...the sexes sound alike, just like geese and swans...

Doesn't matter, though. If I kill one, I'm counting it in the duck total...

Saw my first ever pair using a duck box in Georgetown County yesterday. Big, goofy, best described them.

It's easy to predict but as the BBWD breeding population continues to expand exponentially in SC and as few of these birds migrate, we are going to be covered in BBWD before too much longer.

Not much better eating than a 6 duck limit of BBWD's!

My second best individual volley on ducks was in Argentina on BBWD. 5 shots, 5 birds. They were directly over my head oblivious to my existence about 20 yards above me. They aren't the swiftest flying when startled, and basically stood still for the first 3 shots.

I don't know if the statute of limitations has run up for my best volley.

Spotted 2 broods in Clarendon County today!

2nd year in a row they've bred on the property.
