Tomorrow should be fun. We killed about 300 birds in my field last weekend. Saturday they were thick, Monday very few and shy but some of us still shot limits.

Yesterday we shot our field in northern Anderson county. It was pretty danged slow. The high gun was eight. I have hunted this area for years and have never seen fewer birds.

We did well yesterday. 10 limits of fat birds who weren't shy at all. Fun hunt

So far so good. It’s been a good season. Those boys have shot enough 20ga shells to limit out on all three seasons

Seeing exactly the same thing in my area. Super low numbers in what is usually a very productive area. Opening day we only killed 420 birds with 47 guns. That’s the least amount we’ve ever killed on an opener and we haven’t picked many birds up since then. Yesterday’s shoot was 90 birds with 24 guns. I thought that was terrible until I talked to some of the guys who run the fields around us. My field was holding 2000 birds the week of the opener and poof 50% left. Not sure what is going on out here it is definitely not a lack of food. Lot of corn and Milo being harvested out here right now and I would say they’re spread thin but I’m not even seeing them here and there on harvested grain fields.

    We peaked the week before.

I think dove migrated on the cool north wind following the hurricane.
