Haha good luck! Promised my first born and still haven't found a good dove field. I have asked a few hay farmers about leasing and getting someone to plant..... Answer I normally get is we don't let people hunt out there........
“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965

I won't be posting any pictures of mine. I purposefully planted later than last year but then got delayed further by the three week drought. Mine are only about three to four feet tall and the flowers aren't even close to opening right now. The bigger problem is weeds. I sprayed Imox post emerge but the weeds already had a head start and I can't tell that it did anything at all.

The only good news is that the deer have left them alone. I broadcast a strip of Milorganite around the edges three or four weeks ago and they haven't touched them. I need to reapply today because there was 4 1/4" in the rain gauge yesterday.

Seasons cancelled. We made the hard decision to nuke the fields before everything undesirable went to seed. Maybe next year.
