South Carolina Department of Natural Resources
Public Survey for Sunday Hunting on SCDNR WMAs
The S.C. Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR), in coordination with Clemson University, is currently evaluating options for Sunday hunting on Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) in South Carolina.

Currently WMAs are closed to Sunday hunting. Anyone with an interest in Sunday hunting on WMAs is invited to participate in a statewide survey that is linked below. The survey will allow SCDNR to better understand overall public opinion of Sunday hunting on WMAs. The 10–12-minute survey will be available until July 28 at 5 p.m.

To participate in the survey, visit: https://clemson.ca1.qualtrics.com/jf...rv70rWy0sr6Zp4

Additionally, there will be a series of four public meetings held in July across the state to discuss the subject of Sunday hunting. All public meetings will begin at 6 p.m.

Can anyone tell me what the color of my skin and my annual income has to do with Sunday hunting?

Survey was flawed. Strongly disagree was listed twice on some questions where strongly agree wasn't listed at all

Noticed that too. What can you expect with SCDNR?

Thanks, JAB. Was coming here to post this.

Not posted on their FB page, website nor any other platforms. Snuck out via email to only a select number of license holders. Shady as hell.

Y'all send this survey to everyone you know. Have your wives, mothers, brothers, uncles, grannies everyone fill it out.

Oddly enough QDMA/NDA and NWTF, both born here in SC and both listed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation as being members of the Sunday Hunting Coalition, have both been dead silent on this issue. Not a peep out of either of them. But NWTF did give us that sweet new logo so there's that.

Get that survey to EVERYONE. Show up to the meetings if you can. I'll be at as many as I can possible make.

I completed the survey. I’m probably the only one that’s against the Sunday hunting. I just think the animals need a break like any other property that’s half ass managed.

We’ve hunted together before, the last time was actually on a Sunday so obviously I support hunting on Sundays. But serious question, during turkey and deer season would you rag that place 7 days a week all season long?

Or is it mainly the principle of the tax-paying public being able to access state owned land that you’re really rooting for?

You and everyone making this argument over estimates hunter impact on animals and underestimates non hunter impact/disturbance on animals. It's not a valid argument and has zero data from 40 active case studies to support it.

Especially if that day happens to align with your full day nap day.

Half-assed is giving too much credit.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Do you think the bikers hikers horseback riders walkers give the animals “a break”? I mean are you being sarcastic or just haven’t taken the 1/2 second required to realize that what you’re in favor of does not accomplish what you also support. Should we close the lakes and coast to fishing on Sundays to give the fish a break too?
