My boat is the Alaska Sunrise, also out of Seward. Brought down about 7 years ago.
Deltas are one of the finest riding boats there are. 43’ and 23 tons.
A few times a week I do deep water fishing. Primarily fishing suspended rockfish.
Here’s a pic of my fish TV with fish stacked between 40 and 50 fathoms.

Here’s the type of fish we catch. Limit is 10. Not too bad of a grocery haul

People love it. I think it’s a boring fishery. Use old penn senators on ugly stick tiger rods.
Need the line capacity because I sometimes fish as deep as 80 fathoms. I don’t supply electric reels but have plug ins.
No line counter either, but whether fishing a 22oz lead jig or 4oz lead jig, they both drop around 1 fathom a second. Just tell everyone to drop 45 seconds. Blows their minds.
Normal summer trip is catching these type of fish on a small spinning set up(2500’s) and ugly sticks.
    In shallow. 8-15 fathoms.

Here’s a sample of rockfish last 2 days. The greenish/yellow one has a limit of 10. Blackish one limit of 5.
The greenish one(yellowtail rockfish) eats the same as a ARS. Absolutely delicious. Both fish are 22”.

Offshore, water temps are 54-57 degrees. Which in turn gives it a chill in the air.
Dockside it’s a 68-71 degrees everyday. Morning lows around 57. Perfect

Did a halibut trip today. 13 happy clients. We don't get giant ones here. 25-40# avg. plus a bonus fish called blackcod aka sablefish. Texture and taste equivalent to putting a warm stick of real butter in your mouth and biting. High dollar in the Orient. I absolutely love it smoked(pic attached).
Bonus. Albatross. I see a ton that are banded. Got a pic today. From Midway Island.

It's probably boring to most, but it's different. I like different.
Last year, I noticed a weird Albatross. Just different. So I snapped this pic.
I do one birdwatcher trip a year. Audubon folks looking to check those sea bird marks. Kinda neat actually.

Anyhoots, killing some type of fish 50 miles out I spy this weird one. Snap a pic and send it to the birdwatcher dude. He flipped a lid, blew a gasket. Apparently, I'm the 2nd person to have seen this species of goofy Albatross in Oregon since they started recording these events.
It's the one with the obviously different beak. Forgot name of it.

Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

    That’s badass Curtis.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

It's fun for sure. I had a group rent the boat today strictly for an eco tour/bird watch.
Found them a puffin, brown turnstones and a bunch of other critters. Scenery was awful.

FYI. Dudes on jet skis whack the fish. They get super close, casting in the white water of the rocks.
    Good shit!

Couple more pics. Looking out my door one morning and some seriously unsure elk in the marina wondering if they can make it!

As an 80s kid I look at those rocks and see the ending to Goonies. The pirate ship leaving, no sign. No sign. Good stuff Curtis.

The pics are awesome!! One of these days the wife and I are going to drive up to Seattle to see our oldest and his girlfriend. Might have to get in touch and book a trip. I know he'd love to fill their freezer up there and he's not really the type to go out and do it on his own!
Living in Moncks Corner but looking forward to moving back to the West Coast in 2020 where there are more ducks and less duck hunters!! LOL
