Blackfin is good fresh. I will not freeze it though.

    It’s a damn fine meal.

    Just doesn’t keep well.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Nachos look great. How do y'all freeze fish? I pat dry and vacuum seal everything. I ate some 9 month old blackfin recently, and while not as good as the day it was swimming, it ate very well after being seared. I eat frozen seatrout regularly, and the SCDucks brain trust has declared that frozen trout is cat food. Maybe my taste buds are off. Haven't even had covid.

I vacuum sealed an ass of it the other day, it’ll keep a few months that way and be just fine. All were bled and properly trimmed when I cleaned them. Put up plenty of dolphin and snapper also, if I don’t have to filet anything else the rest of the year I’ll be ok with it....
