    Default Euro 2020

quarters are friday and saturday (noon and 3pm)

It should be some great futbol.

I know you would rather watch baseball or grass growing (just for feets) but you really should branch out a little and appreciate the passion involved at this level. You may also note a patriotism that is lost on the US crowd these days....

Or dont watch. I really really dont care.

    I'll be watching.

It was on TV @ the place I ate lunch yesterday.

One thing I have never understood is why soccer players are such cry baby drama queens. Anytime a player gets close to another player and contact is made regardless of how minimal, one of the players inevitably falls down and starts crying like he just got his leg chopped off. Flailing around and screaming like a little girl, writhing in “pain”. What’s the point, I’ve never understood it?

    It is simple economics.

yeah...its a tough one to try to explain or condone. I'll just say that getting a free kick 30yards or so out could be the difference between winning and losing. They will always try to get a penalty called in the box, too. I think VAR has changed some of this...but its worse, if you can believe it, in other leagues.

I'll also add that if you've ever been stepped on with 1"+ metal studs, that shit hurts. Those are the reactions that I let slide. Most refs are aware of this and react accordingly.

I'll watch if I'm around, it is entertaining but not as entertaining as reading the responses to any Toofer post (especially futbol related)

Pretending to be hurt is a stain on a great sport.

    I really enjoy watching matches.
I would also really enjoy to see players penalized for that display of gayness.

2 overreactions and you can go whine off the field.

France and Germany both losing really changes the dynamic of the tournament.

The French choke the other day was beautiful. Folded like a wet pair of capris.

I’d rather fight off cobras while hooking up an in line pump booster to clear turds in a dog pen. Wearing capris.

You’d have to be in serious good shape to pull that off Salt.

    Like professional soccer, good shape.

I haven't missed much of the 2020 Euros. Belgium v. Italy on Friday should be a great game.

I hate the flopping too. A lot of it is trying to draw a foul but it's well understood that some of it is to just get a "breather". It's just humanly impossible to keep up that level of play for 45 minutes and there are no "time-outs". I have seen at least one yellow card for "simulation" during this Euro. I also watched live when Christian Eriksen was getting CPR and defib'ed. It was pretty scary.

I appreciate the sport for it's national draw and patriotism. However, if you've never played soccer and can't appreciate the game for what it is, watching it is absolutely horrific. If they would score more often, I'd be more inclined to give it a whirl. I can't watch for 90 minutes with the hope of 1 goal.

Yeah, I played baseball, so I have been spiked. I never flopped around like fish on dry land......
