Pendleton, right up there by Clem, had a dude in their homecoming court tonight.
Just finished the movie. Wasn’t terrible. Wouldn’t call it good by any means.
I went to see it. I loved the Sopranos. The movie forget about it. Save your money.
Decided to stream instead of theater. Enjoyed the film.

I watched it last night and fell asleep. As great as the show was the movie was a disappointment.
Loved it. Gonna see it again at the theatre.
The twist involving Uncle Junior was an aw hell moment, too.
Yes it was. Evil bunch as previously noted.
The actor who played young Silvio Dante did a great job acting .

The movie felt like a run on sentence, with no arc, no big finale, nothing ....
I could understand all the different sub plots, like Harold McBrayer, if it was supposed to be the first of a series of Sopranos prequels. Thought, I read somewhere that there would be others, but can’t find anything now. If not, it’s some Godfather, part 3 BS
The movie makes sense. There's definitely an arc and climax, imo. Spoiler Alert.....
In nutshell, Dicky Moltisanti strives to become a better man in life, unlike his father whom he despises, but he winds up just like him in every sense of the word: murderer, abuser of women, and himself a murder victim. No matter the good deeds he does, Dicky feels dogged by fate, driven by his own carnal desires and superstition.
The rising action was killing his dad.
The climax was killing his goomar, his father's widow
The denouement was Dicky himself getting murdered on his own curb.
Take away the Newark and mafia setting and it's a universal human story: Many men become their father despite a lot of effort. [I look at where I am now at 53 and it's fuckin' scary that I wasn't consciously trying to end up like my father.] Also, many men believe in fate and superstition and discount the freedom of the will.
I should have phrased it better. There is an arc and a climax, but neither are good. It seemed extremely anticlimactic to me, even when Dickie was shot unloading his car. There was no QUALITY build up to anything that happened. I thought the acting was pretty bad as well. For example, I'm usually a Ray Liotta fan, I thought he did a terrible job with both of his characters.
For as good of a show as The Soprano's is, they didn't do it justice at all.
The trailer sold it as being about Tony and his rise to a life of crime, with a little bit of Dickie and other people mixed in. Instead, we get this story about this guy we’ve only heard about once or twice and the creation of a black street gang. So, while we got some of young Tony, I think most people feel like they were duped.
