    Default King Mackerel ?

Somebody gave me some and I've never had it. I have heard it's very oily. What's the best way to cook it so it's good?

it's cool day fresh on a grill, if longer.. I'd make a dip out of it.

I was about to post something very similar. Certainly don't freeze it.

I've caught them but always thrown them back. I've always heard they were good eating but the parasites in the tail section are enough to make me not want to keep them.

And, MKW, don't feed the king fish to kids or pregnant women...

Throw it in the trash and get some hamburger.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Fried fresh no one can tell the difference between it and some parts of a dolphin. After 6 hours it’s gross

I once ate some Kingfish that had been soaked in Eytaliiian and grilled. It grew like bubblegum as I chewed it. The next side that got carried home was smoked and made into dip. that was a little more palatable.

Both times the gifter wore a gold chain with a gold plated ( no doubt) kingfish medallion. His words " Bo, they don't call em the King for nothin"..

I grew up on the West Coast and we had a pretty steady diet of Marlin and Swordfish. I much prefer those two to Kings.

    REMOVE SKIN

If more than a day old, chunk it, dredge in texas pete, deep fry...

If fresh - grilled/ baked or blackened - I prefer blackened
Honey...I'll do it after the season is over.

Steak your kings out. Push the four medallions out of each steak. Soak in buttermilk, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Season up some Adluh Carolina Breader, throw them in there....immediately into the Crisco with them.

It was given to me frozen. It's skinned fillets. Maybe a dip is the only option.

Someone cleaned out their freezer and didn't want their garbage can to stink...they did you no favors.

Not quite sure I would even consider this person a friend...

At best, I'd do a stew. Or use it to set traps for coons and possums.

I'd seriously consider not loaning this person any tools if he is a neighbor.

It's also excellent for crawfish traps.
