Shooting them in the field sucks. You stay dry, you don't have to worry about putting on a pair of leaking waders, majority of the time you can drive up to where you are hunting and dump your decoys, gear, dog, etc. Picking up dead birds/cripples is easier on you and the dog. It's a terrible way to hunt waterfowl.

Road trips are cool. But watching the sun come up twice through a windshield is damn hard to do. Next time I will be flying. I hear it's really dry out there this season.

It's a booger of a drive. Especially when you drop a transmission in Omaha on the way back.

The locals frown on shooting water much less a roost. Watch YouTube, plenty of young bucks will walk ya through it, from the drive to the pile.
Talk alligators and hogs, they dig that shit. Boiled pnuts and hushpuppies didn't go over as planned.

    ATV would be very handy

FISH and sasha go and snuggle in the SE. he can give you some more recent intel.

IMO, its hard to plan a duck hunting trip bc you dont know which ducks will be there. locals vs migratory.
either way, its hard not to have fun out there.
    Here’s your “recent intel”.

    1. 2oofdork is a flaming homo.

    2. If you plan to hunt water, you should also plan to be disappointed.

    3. You have to get permission to hunt everywhere except public CRP. Permission is good for ONE DAY. Don’t ask for permission and then show up at that place three days later and don’t try to hunt a field again without getting permission to go back. Don’t assume you can hunt a field because it isn’t posted. This is the ONE THING that really matters out there. Trespassing will put a game warden in your room, in your truck, and up your large intestine. He will hang citations on your ass. It will be more than 12 points. SC and ND have reciprocity. Obey all game laws and eat your ducks as fast as possible, provided of course that you hunt fields. If you hunt water you won’t have to worry about eating ducks.

    4. Leave the landowners pheasants alone. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to shoot pheasants out of the truck as you drive. You’ll see what I mean if you actually go.

    5. When asking for permission to hunt, tell them that you only want to shoot ducks. They usually don’t care about ducks but they tend to really care about “their” pheasants. And deer are strictly off limits.

It's okay to make fun of your own kind and use derogatory slang against those who reside in your same camp.

So you and fish enjoy the remaining few days of your special month.

I think Tot is seeing who not to ride with to ND.
