I'm not in favor of actually wrapping bacon around anything. I love bacon, really any other way. I mean I make a bacon salad dressing, and I think the blt is as close to the perfect sandwich as you can get. But wrapping it around meats is f'n ridiculous

When I see bacon wrapped filets, I'm genuinely disappointed. Who in the balls wants a feminine cut, wrapped in bacon. There's not an easy way to make that thing gel.

You can't cook the meat properly, then the bacon. And bacon shouldn't be crisped up to hell like some petrified wood. Go buy a plastic jar of those nappy bacon bits and go away.

1 pc of buttered texas toast, a venison sausage patty, 3 slices of bacon broken into 6 pcs crisscrossed, a slice of cheese, topped with another pc of buttered texas toast- fried in the bacon grease just long enough to melt the cheese.
Best damned grilled cheese/sausage/bacon sandwich ever.

It should bend, not break, and definitely not flop.

Definitely a bacon guy, but a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich from the Lions Den might well be my favorite food item on earth because of time and place.

I cook and eat more bacon than sausage but prefer sausage.

Most mornings I cook the wife a few strips of bacon and she takes to school for her mid morning snack (she is not a breakfast eater ) and just says bacon is easier to snack on while she is at her desk

There are a couple of local sausage makers in Anderson area that make some great sausage which I prefer but have found some store bought sausages to be ok

Snow Creek, Swygerty’s , TN Pride all are pretty good. Tried one from Publix couple weeks back “Old Folks” and both hot and mild were pretty good

We had a place in Anderson that had great sausage and sold it to a lot of local restaurants and Mom/Pop stores. By far my favorite but they went out of business

Can not find decent sausage at a restaurant much so I always order bacon instead.

I started making sausage this year so I could use up some of the excess deer burger I end up with. I use about 20% bacon in most of my recipes. Sausage making is addictive. I've got some favorites that I'll cook way before I'd pull out the bacon.

Bacon wrapped dove breast filets, stuffed with onion, jalapeno and cheese and cooked on the grill justify wrapping food in bacon. When the bacon gets done, the dove is perfectly medium rare.

I love bacon but really don't eat it by itself that much. I still like to have it available for recipes. To keep it long term and also be able to pull out a single strip without thawing a one pound package, I found a great way to freeze it. I lay it out side by side on Glad Press-n-seal plastic wrap and then roll it up so each piece is separated from the others. I leave a foot long pony tail on the end so after it's frozen, I can pull it and pop a single piece loose from the bacon log.

I prefer a thick sliced pepper bacon. Out West we eat at a diner and their sausage is more meat than fat, almost looks like a hamburger patty.
