    I’ve got no problem with it. One more day of vacation a year for me.

    An ice cold beer on the water on Juneteenth tastes just as good as an ice cold beer any other holiday.

    As a student of the War of Northern Aggression against Southern Independence- I have long known what Juneteenth was and it's significance to a small group of people.
    That knowledge leaves a question.
    How many times in years past have you or any of your co-workers asked to take off work to celebrate this day?

    Read an article that said that this makes 44 fed holidays. I’m not questioning the significance of the day but 44 days is too many.

    Yet I’m conflicted. Any day the fed gov is closed is a good day.

    Damn- I thought there were only 13 or so- I agree about the fed gov- if they aren't working they can't screw things up.

    Before Thursday, federal employees received pay for 10 federal holidays, 13 sick days and 20 vacation days per year on average.
