I started on it mid January, working weekends and a few evenings, and was done by turkey season for the most part other than a few little odds and ends. I did errr thing my self.

I've since put a TV and some ceiling fans out there which made it much more enjoyable during these summer months.

I watched him put that together on snap and I'm jealous as hell. It's sharp and well thought out.

Are those concrete countertops? How do you like them?

Yes. We really like them. I couldn't think of a better outdoor countertop for the money. I formed it up with Melamine board, ran a piece of rebar along all the edges, and around the cutouts, and then a layer of fencing for more strength. 11 bags of sand topping concrete mix. After I pulled the forms, I made a slurry coat with some concrete patcher to fill in any voids or pinholes, sanded all of the edges while it was still pretty green to get a rounded edge. Then I wetsanded a few spots on the surface, but left it kind of random and spotty to add some character. After it cured for a few weeks, I acid stained the surface and then applied a few coats of sealer.

I used Sakrete counter top mix that worked well, Blue bag. I bought a wet sander, routed the edge round and polished them smooth, then acid stained and a poly. Been holding strong 8 years now.
