    Default Redneck engineering

    Tired of this crap

Searched for boat cover supports and found those telescoping rods with the small, 3" bases for $15-$30 a piece. Many reviews said they were always falling over and that wasn't going to work for me so I grabbed my portable rod holders out of the boat

And bought $12 worth of PVC pipe and fittings

I thought I'd share the project in case some of you other small boat guys could use it on your boats.

You guys might also want to note the motor cover in the 6th picture down. It's a small grill cover from Lowes. Half the price of an actual motor cover and has a drawstring on the bottom. The one in the pic is going on it's third year.

True redneck ingenuity is about the only thing that rivals vagina in terms of winning percentage.

    That'll work!

I have also seen pvc pipe with a tee on each end that has been cut open to fit on the gunnel. This spring loads into an arch across the boat.

The boat beside you needs something to keep the pine trees out.

Urban engineering. Redneck would have put cedar post up with a few sheets of tin. Making the 10th outbuilding in the yard
