They just can’t prevent themselves from screwing up a good thing.
Ugh. Ill be first.
It will do nothing to help decide who is the best team. If that is the goal, then having 4 teams compete in it is enough of a pool of candidates.
If we have 8 teams in the playoff, then the no 9 team will just complain like the no 5 team does now. Someone is always going to be left out and cry foul.
I think 8 would make for some good games and competition.
There is (usually) no doubt who the best team in the nation is any given year (2020 Bama, 2019 LSU), but there will be some years where that isn't so and a sleeper 6,7, or 8 seed with end of the season momentum could make a scene.

Would the school down in Myrtle Beach, Coastal? be eligible under the new plan?
Does this mean that the championship will end up being played in March now? They have so much time off between games that they'll never finish the season.
12 seems excessive

No need to watch football now before about December.
They should assign a point value for loss/win against specific opponents. 2 points if you win against Wake Forest, 35 if you win against LSU, -10 kazillion if you lose to The Citadel, etc. With extra credick awarded if you wear the right slogans on your helmets, of course...
Please don’t make it 12. The regular season will be utterly meaningless if it is.
Yes and no
Yes in that teams that have no shot, their star players will opt out and prepare for the draft
No in that teams that have a fighting chance, every single game will mean something to them. A fan of a team ranked 15 will find themselves watching the 10pm game between #12 USC and #14 Oregon State

Personally I really don’t want a 9-3 or 10-2 team getting a shot at the championship. Talk about watering down the regular season. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, etc. can pretty much guarantee an appearance every year since they could potentially lose 2-3 games and still get in.
To expand the playoff beyond 4 teams in my opinion is utterly stupid. College football has the most meaningful regular season in all of sports. Why ruin that and water it down? But hey, what do I know? I never wanted to get rid of the BCS so.....
y'all do realize there is a golf match on right now.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
