Default Trolling Motors - school me

My trout rig needs a trolling motor upgrade, I have a 70lb 24V saltwater model on it now and it still works but is pretty old.
I like bow mounted w/ tiller handle
Don't need a ton of bells and whistles, don't need the GPS stuff but wouldn't mind something with a remote control
    Budget $1000 - $1500

Don't under estimate the "GPS stuff". My wife talks to our Minnkota i-Pilot and calls it "R2"...and she hates Star Wars...

The GPS stuff is great for alligator hunting too.

Absolutely a game changer. Won’t go back to a tm without it unless on a tiny pond boat

It’s one of those things in life you didn’t know you needed until you got it.

If you go minn Kota riptide (riptide is salt water rated, its white vs black for what it’s worth) Get the Terrova over the powerdrive. Ain’t much difference in $$$ but the deployment is soooo much simpler. Wish I head done the research before my purchase.

Probably just my luck but I just got a new powerdrive and it quit propelling on me on the first outing. Drive pin ain’t busted so I didn’t hit nothing. Got to take it in for warranty work....

The Terrova is truly a game changer. The anchor feature and the heading feature will spoil you quick!

I love the spot lock. You will not regret that purchase at all.

First time I’ve ever fished with that spot lock feature today at the beach. We destroyed the trout. Hard to describe how easy it is. It’s a bigger difference than when they first came out with auto pilot vs those without it. I wouldn’t think of buying a new one without it.

Spot lock and GPS is very nice. Also, not sure what your plans are but I wouldn't sell yours until you have a replacement in hand. From what I hear they are in short supply like everything else. Something to consider...

Where do you store your boat? You'll probably want a quick connect bracket...
