    Default AMZN Firestick help

I was trying to hook up a firestick last night an ran into a problem. After entering in my amzn login info to register the device it was supposed to send me a. Edification code to my phone to complete the process. I tired this several times and the code never came through. Tried it with my wife’s login info with the same result. AMZN customer service was no help. The WWW was little help only finding that I was not the only person with this issue but no solution or work around.

    Any help or suggestions?

Reset the fire stick to factory settings, reboot and start again. Before you do that, get on your prime account from a computer and make sure your number is correct in the info for the account.

We had multiple problems with the stick, we have been replacing them with Apple with no issues.

Finally got it through the help of 5th customer service person only to know have another problem of the home screen not loading. I did find out I received a very old version of the firestick which was the root cause of the original problem and now I can't get it to update to the latest OS. Very frustrating.

So what does Apple and or Roku do ? Just stream movies?

I thought Apple just mirrored your phone.

Chromecast is a mirroring device. Firestick, Apple and Roku are all little computers that have apps such as ESPN, YouTube, Netflix, etc. You can mirror your screen to these devises also.

Amzn is sending me a new firestick. I have Roku as well, but this firestick was free. My mom won it, apparently a long time ago. It was new in box but because it was so old it wouldn't update to the latest software and since it was just registered yesterday, the warranty just started, so Amazon said they'd send me a new one. We'll see...can't fault them for the customer service though.

Does the same as a fire stick but is lightning fast.

The only real negative I heard about Apple(and I have all apple products computers and phones) is that it doesn't work well with YouTube TV. When we switched to YouTube from cable we went with Roku and haven't had any problems. The only problem is it doesn't work well with Bally Sports app for Braves games but I think that is the Ball app and not Roku

You will need to explain this to me. I’m not technologically advanced.

I have an Apple TV device.

I have a fire stick. Watching movies on the stick sucks sometimes because it will buffer.

All streaming devices do the same thing. They are small computers that let you download and play media apps. Just like computers, some streaming devices are faster and more robust than others.

I can’t verify with actual real world data since I only use a FireStick and have no issues, but I think Hogan is saying switching would be equivalent to an LS swap.
