    Default Cadre too late?

Time slipped by me a little bit as I was waiting for rain. My flowers are at the 6-8 leaf stage. Most are at 8. I know they are going to yellow up some after application but am I still good to go to apply at the 8 leaf stage? The weeds are not bad due to good preemergent application and limited rain, just have a small area with some grasses.

Would would you do given the limited rain forecast in the Midlands?

Clethodim or another grass selective herbicide is a better option if you only have grass.... Consider getting some drop nozzles to get the spray between the rows for better weed coverage...

this is my 2nd season of dove fields... but from what I'm told 6-8 leaf @ approx 3 weeks post germination. I'd say you're good.
I am using Panoramic 2SL, which was $100 less than Cadre. Application rate 4oz per acre.

I just planted my Clearfield sunflowers Saturday- how long can the seed tolerate no rain?
This is my first time planting sunflowers

    johnny==spray it

BH--any moisture in the soil? i'm staring at the same predicament.
I think a week in the soil without any moisture would certainly effect germination....
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

We have had rain forecast but none has come- step on a clod and get just dust when it breaks. I guess I need to run hoses and irrigate.
    Thanks

Like wkjohns said, I'd hit it with Poast if all you have is grass. Its a whole lot cheaper than Cadre and will make grass just as dead. You'd also be able to wait until the flowers are taller to spray and not be worried about hurting the flowers.

I planted mine Sunday...in dust. I'm praying for rain. I'm hopeful there is just enough soil moisture to get them going. Might get some rain Saturday if the forecast holds.

    Whackum, What's a better/cheaper generic than Imox?

BTW, I used the drop tubes you gave me to put down nitrogen Sunday. It seemed to work pretty well but I won't know until I get back this weekend to see how bad I burned the stalks with splatter. I had to block off nozzles on my sprayer and only do two rows at a time because my rows were so crooked.

Compared to almost $600 for the Beyond brand name, I will take the raping I reckon

But I am certainly open to any suggestions you may have

We cultivated some today instead of spraying them. Needing rain bad and there is no reason to waste money on chemicals. ECA86FC4-908A-46D8-ADE4-B3A4EE6F6DF5.jpg

I use chemicals also. On the spot we cultivated we did not get to spray before the last rain and you need the rain to activate most chemicals. Beyond, cadre, panoramic are all good stuff
