Fox, I believe an appropriate comparison would be for me to prostitute my little sister out to whoever had enough dough to make it worth while to me under the auspices of me giving, (after my healthy self appointed salary is deducted) all remaining monies to a children's charity. SCWA is a pimp.

would you send your kids to a "christian camp" that taught them all kinds of great things...including that one lesson on the best way to steal from the rich?

i dont think you can generalize the camp and say "its great for kids" when there is a lesson being taught that, IMHO, is NOT great.

Shooting Pen Raised Mallards would be the equivalent of catching a bass in a goldfish bowl.

    I do one better.....

If you can find the character on Hero's that melts metal and send him to my house I'll give all my SCWA bands to him and have them melted!
I could care less if I kill a SCWA banded bird. WOOP EEEEE I'd rather kill a hooded merganser's!

This response is what you get from a person that has hunted ducks for 4 years- they consider these water chickens to be as wild as wild can be-- This is why Camp Woodie should be shut down- the kids don't know any better- they are taught to accept this practice as waterfowl hunting. Hell jsut give em some quarters and send them to the shooting arcade.

I am shocked beyond my imagination that any human being would post such utter crap! To taint my lanyard with a water chicken band would be an insult to those that have made their travels back and forth from the northern breeding grounds. Thank God I know of no one or associate with anyone that would wear such a trinket of trash!

This is too funny, not "funny haha" either. Its a crying shame that someone would put a SCWA band on a lanyard and "show it off". I shot one years ago that was crippled in a river and couldn't even fly away from the boat. What a letdown it was to read that band and know it was someone's pet. It may be in a box somewhere in the basement with some old hunting crap. Anyone want to buy it? It was never reported. I might would try to find it if one you posers has got enough $$.

turd, i might know who bought your bands...talked to a guy one day in fants grove and his WHOLE lanyard was covered in SCWA bands, literally the WHOLE thing. there was no empty space. even the drop downs for calls had them on them. wish i could have taken a picture with this guy. he also lugged in about 3 dozen deeks and blew a kazoo

that's what its all about. people give this web site a bunch of grief and tell their friends not to come here for whatever reason, but i really think there is some knowledge around if people will take the time to listen and make their OWN decisions.

fox, you have got to be kidding! The few SCWA "mallards" I have killed - when they used to hole up around Lowfalls and between Packs and Catfish Creek I used to tell others where they were because they needed to be killed and I didn't want to hunt them - I have taken the bands off and thrown them in the water and hid the duck when I got to the landing - it is not hunting and a big let when you shoot one and find out it was hatched, fed and "taught" to fly by SCWA.
These things are a joke and anybody that "hunts" them and then considers themselves a duck hunter are a disgrace to the tradition and the real duck hunters in this state. I would never put one of those fake bands on my lanyard, would much rather even have wood duck bands than the fakes - and yes, I have real bands from real mallards.
DW has brained washed people into thinking there are no and will not be any wild mallards in this state ever again so you have to buy them from him - even said so at the refuge meeting last night - talked about the 200k mallards that were in MO in Dec - bet they were, there's always been some mallards that stayed north - I just hope we wasn't up there trying to peddle his goods and spreading this disease to other areas of the country.
I always thought a website was a selling tool, not a product repair manual!
