    Default Dewees Conservation Easement

A link to the stupid .pdf on the SCDNR website because, evidently, they also can't figure out how to post the actual words...

    https://www.dnr.sc.gov/pubs/boardres...weesisland.pdf

At play here are seems to be the Property Owners Association wanting to change the 46 year old agreement. If someone knows how to cut and paste from a .pdf, feel free...

A lot of delinquent assessments out there and the owners can't even give their lots to the POA.

We can't even charge the coyotes rent anymore.

I read on the DNR forum that the coyotes were released on Dewees to control the wild sheep...

It'd be better if they could help control the attorneys

There's a recurring theme at most of the low density, high assessment places. Brays, Spring, Daufuskie, Dewees, etc, etc. Only a matter of time before the well meaning/un-silent minority "improve" the place so much that you can't give a lot away.

We had a lot at Brays for over 20 years and were lucky to get what we paid for it. Try not to think about the longterm carrying cost..

i think the general consensus on dewees was to keep it like it was written in the original easement. in a way, its keeping all those "improvements" in check...

The outcome of all this ended in following the original easement. so, i guess that consensus.

advertising rentals on dewees was never something I expected to see.

    For no money, of course.

So, is it really renting? No, it's not. As defined by Charleston County ordinance, I mean.

I'll bring a couple cases of Keystone Light and a spinning rod or two.
