And yes I am baptist, and I don’t like contemporary music. Hymns give me chills sometimes. Can’t say that about any contemporary music.

Modern musical instruments in mainline denominations began in the early 1990's due to Bill Hybels' seeker-sensitive outreach mindset. The movement borrowed something from Pentecostal/Charismatic churches. It is as if mainline denoms wanted just a piece of what the "crazies" were doing...the lifting of hands, the praise choruses, etc, but without tongues, interpretation, or prophecy.

They are aisle running, pew jumping, slober slinging, naner pudding eating, King James preaching folks.

AoG pastors can tearfully cry on demand at key moments. CoG pastors go into a death metal snarling growl for sermons, even for parts that don't call for growling and snarling. "I WAS IN THE GROCERY STORE AND DEMANDED....HAH....TO KNOW...HAH...WHERE...HAH...IS...HAH...THE BROCOLI?????"

I attended Sumter Baptist Temple back in the mid 80’s with a girl I was dating and her family. I don’t know about today, but back then, it was as close to a cult as I can imagine. It was 100% whack. I grew up a Baptist, but they almost changed my mind.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

Yet neither usually know anything about apologetics except Calvinist need to be killed.
