And tie those ATV ramps down every single time. A friend's son was killed last night loading his bike when the ramps slipped. Teach your kids to do it the right way by example...

Awful news JAB, I've always been scared of the ramps and opt for a trailer everytime. Prayers for the kids friends and family.

Great point! I have had ramps and trailers and those bumper straps are a must for the ramps.
I also would always look for a ditch or a hill back the truck into, to lessen the steepness of the ramp angle.
    God bless the family involved

Man that's rough. Prayers with his family. I think all of us who use those things have had close calls.

    Sorry to hear that JAB

I have never used them. How does one get injured badly using a set if you don't mind me asking? I'd like to know what to look out for if I am ever around them.

you drive up the ramp and they slide off the tailgate and you fall forward. they come with chains to attach to the tailgate to prevent this but most people dont connect them every time.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

Dang man, that's terrible. I've been scared to use those things since i was a kid.

And look up "atv loading fails" on youtube and you'll see how people get hurt.

Definitely sketchy going up on my 2500 but I always strap them to the tailgate cables. Hate that.

I figured they must move once the front wheels clears the ramp and gets on the tailgate causing them to shift. ATV falls back on the person. That's just how I envision it, no direct knowledge of any incidents.
